Domaine Chermette is a family estate in Saint-Vérand, in the Golden Stone area, South of Beaujolais in Rhone. Combining tradition and innovation, Martine, Pierre-Marie and Jean-Etienne Chermette are fully involved in the production of authentic, high quality wines. White, red and Beaujolais rosé, crus such as Brouilly, Fleurie, Moulin-à-Vent, Saint-Amour, Crémants de Bourgogne as well as hand crafted fruit liqueurs, cassis and vine peach with ginger make up the range.
The Poncié cuvée is drawn from a beautiful 4.5-hectare site of 45-year-old vines on pink granite soils. It’s Chermette’s most seductive and graceful Cru bottling, especially when young. Poncié is one of a handful of celebrated highland terroirs along the ridge situated high above the village (Roche Guillon is another). The winemaking is traditional, with natural, whole-bunch ferments in large concrete vats and aging in large old foudres.
